Little steps that make life better

·  Make the call you have always been shirking.
·  Walk up earlier than you usually do and give time to yourself.
·  Try to be the change you want to see in other.
·  Care more and share more than what you expect.
·  Keep striking and extend your limits, you never know how close is the end point.
·  Avoid playing it safe and start taking calculated risk, be different.
·  Do not follow blindly, you may be a better leader than the one ahead of you.
·  Look like a fool when you’re looking for answers you don’t have.
·  Opt to work little harder when even working smarter can do.
·  Complete the task and reach the end point even when making an excuse is an option.
·  Read more, look for your own reasons, may be you can draw better conclusions.
·  Make mistakes, learn from others mistakes but avoid making the same mistake again.
·  Try and fail, retry and fail, try again, may be you will succeed eventually.
·  Run faster, think slower, work harder, stay calmer, and dream bigger.
·  Look at the weaker to remain complacent, look at the stronger to be feel insecure and achieve more.
·  Present the true result and avoid following the facts, may be you will bring about a breakthrough.
·  Everyday make someone smile, share a meal and do one kind thing to the needy.
·  Keep moving towards even around the turns where more people prefer returning to the pavilion.
·  Believe in yourself, after all what matters is what you believe in.

Historic, religious and cultural glimpse

We visited Basilica Church and Vadaknathan Temple. In Vadaknathan Temple (rather in all the temples in Kerala) men have to remove their uppers. In Kerela I came to know about an amazing story. It is a mythological belief that at the time of conflict between Devils and Deities for nectar (amrit), Lord Vishnu turned into Mohini, a gorgeous lady, who could mesmerize the devils and feign poison for nectar. Mohini was so beautiful that Lord Shiva fell for her and they had a baby named 'Aiyappa'.

This is king Ram Varma's palace, who reigned in Kerela during late 1800's and early 1900's. Here we saw ancient sculptures, pottery, coins and arsenal, though we were not allowed to take pictures inside the palace.

Shades of Life

I am thankful to god for every moment I live. He gave me eyes to relish the beauty of the world around me. He gave me hands to hold the falling. He gave me heart to love and make a lamenting smile.

I am thankful to god for placing me in the world where I get enough food to eat, clean water to drink and fresh air to breathe. He gave me chance to visit this paradise which he created for his loved ones.

I am thankful to god to give me birth as a girl. I love, I care, I make sacrifices, I make compromises, still I have the power to endure, to smile and to forgive.

Conference at KVASU, Kerala

Conference inaugural function, we were so excited to see this elephant as if we have never seen one before. Yes of course, I had never touched an elephant before and that too a decorated elephant.

Though I was bombarded with some silly questions, it was a nice experience.

Faculty at Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University aims at inculcating some entrepreneurial skills in the students, so that has arranged a stall for students to sell dairy products and here we are endorsing them.

Food Food Food at Kerela

We could hardly find some good North Indian food, but we made all possible efforts to relish South Indian food.
Our first South Indian breakfast, Idli-Wadda with coconut chutney!!!

I would have definitely forgotten its name if it was not mentioned in the picture, yes its 'Kappa'

And I remember, this is Avial, a dish made of mix veggies, curd, curry leaves and coconut seasoning
This is 'Puttu', the only little familiar dish served there, Its made by steaming a mixture of rice and coconut and later on mixed with chickpea.

This is a picture from train, I just could not eat pantry food, so finally i got Wada pav to satiate my hunger receptors, Phew!!!

Zoological Park at Thrissur, Kerala

I could find more biodiveristy here than at the Zoo in Delhi, but of course they didn't have the white tiger and white peacocks. Kids were exuberant and would come up every time to shake hands with us, that was a bounteous gesture, kids are same everywhere. Here is the beautiful Heron and not very bland Cobra. There was a museum nereby, but we were not allowed to take pictures there.

Virgin Beaches In Coastal Area, Thrissur, Kerala

At Thrissur, our stay was at Malabar Guest House, which was close to the Bus Stand as well as the Railway Station. Virgin Beach was about 30 minutes distance from our stay. We took  public transport and with great difficulty we were able to make the conductor understand were we wanted to go. There was a halt at 'Chavakado' and we had to get an Auto from there. In the bus, people were amusing at us, finally there was a lady who could understand hindi. Wow, she was a savior and she guided us to get back before its dark. Finally this was the beach, where I particularly focused at taking picture. Fish sale was going on there and prices would reach rs. 30,000/- wow.

Journey to Kerala

Recently, I had been to Kerala for a conference. From Ludhiana to Kerala, it was a journey of 50 hours. I was little afraid, as I had never traveled that wide before, but it was not that bad experience. In the train, we met people from North and South and received contrasting opinion about life in Kerala. But my personal experience says, that its very important to have a planned holiday, especially in terms of weather. It was really hot in Thrissur (the cultural capital of Kerala), our conference venue and being Punjabi, we were just not comfortable with the food. For people going to Kerala, I would advise to pack your stuff just according to the weather (google it before hand), get a good hotel, travel by public transport (that would be cheaper), and particularly visit places like Alleppey, Kovalam Beach and Athirapally falls
