Historic, religious and cultural glimpse

We visited Basilica Church and Vadaknathan Temple. In Vadaknathan Temple (rather in all the temples in Kerala) men have to remove their uppers. In Kerela I came to know about an amazing story. It is a mythological belief that at the time of conflict between Devils and Deities for nectar (amrit), Lord Vishnu turned into Mohini, a gorgeous lady, who could mesmerize the devils and feign poison for nectar. Mohini was so beautiful that Lord Shiva fell for her and they had a baby named 'Aiyappa'.

This is king Ram Varma's palace, who reigned in Kerela during late 1800's and early 1900's. Here we saw ancient sculptures, pottery, coins and arsenal, though we were not allowed to take pictures inside the palace.
